Parrot and Peach is a monthly newspaper for kids ages 4+, delivered right to your mailbox. Each issue is packed with stories, culture, language, geography, and hands-on activities from India — all guided by our two mascots, Pihu the parrot and Ishi the peach. Every mailing also includes a keepsake postcard and a collectible Great Minds of India card.
We've designed every issue for kids aged 4+. Younger kids can enjoy it with a parent reading along, while older kids can dive into the stories, puzzles, and activities on their own.
Every month, you'll receive the newspaper itself (8 pages of stories, culture, and activities), a keepsake postcard, and a collectible Great Minds of India card.
Yes — the newspaper is written in English, with Indian language words, a monthly shlokam, and cultural terms woven throughout to help kids connect with language as they read.
Parrot and Peach isn't a news publication — it's a monthly adventure made just for kids. Instead of headlines, you'll find stories, a new word in a different Indian language, a place in India to explore, an animal to meet, hands-on crafts, and inspiring people to learn about — plus a card to collect and a way to write back to us. It's less "here's what happened today" and more "here's something to hold, read, and grow with, every single month."
Every issue comes with a brand-new Great Minds of India card featuring an inspiring figure from Indian history. Collect them month after month — or use them for a fun scrapbooking project, it's up to you!
It's yours to do whatever feels fun! Keep it as a keepsake — collect beautifully designed postcards from India, or send it to a friend or family member who'd love a little piece of India in their own mailbox.
Most newspapers and magazines are subsidized by advertising, which is how they keep subscriber prices low. Parrot and Peach has no ads — every page is original content made just for you, from a brand-new story and shlokam each month to a collectible card and postcard mailed alongside it. We're also a small, independently run publication rather than a mass-printed one, which means every issue costs more to produce than a large-scale magazine — but it also means every detail is made with real care, not filler to sell ad space around.
India is a treasure trove of diversity, and we're just getting started exploring it! Every issue is brand new — we cover a different region, festival, animal, historical figure, and story each month, so no two issues repeat. You'll always have something fresh to look forward to.
Just the basics — crayons or colored pencils, and everyday household items for the monthly craft (we'll always list exactly what you need at the start of that activity). Nothing hard to find, we promise!
Parrot and Peach was created by a parent who wants their own child to grow up connected to India's stories, language, and culture — in a way that felt fun, not like homework. Every issue is written and put together with that same idea in mind: something a family can enjoy together.
Parrot and Peach is a genuine monthly subscription, not a one-time box. We're committed to bringing you a brand-new issue every single month, and we're just getting started!
